COVID curbs: Mandatory 7-day quarantine for all international arrivals to India from Jan 11
The Indian government on Friday took a call to revise its travel guidelines for international passengers which includes a mandatory 7-day quarantine.

The revised guidelines will come into effect from January 11 onwards. Passengers that originate or transit from 'at-risk' countries shall be informed by the airlines that they will undergo post-arrival testing, quarantine if tested negative, stringent isolation protocols if tested positive.

Passengers traveling from specified countries at risk must submit a sample for post-arrival Covid test at the point of arrival which will be self-paid in nature. These passengers will be required to wait for their test results at the airport prior to leaving or boarding a connecting flight.

Passengers will be home quarantined for seven days if they test negative they will follow and will take up an RT-PCR test on the eighth day, results of which they need to upload on the Air Suvidha portal (to be monitored by the respective States/UTs). If the test comes out to be negative, they will further self-monitor their health for the next 7 days.

All travellers need to submit complete and factual information in a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before the scheduled travel, including the details of travel undertaken in the last 14 days. The passengers need to upload a negative test report which was conducted within 72 hours prior to the journey.
