India reports 3,095 fresh Covid infection cases

The number of new Covid cases in India climbed to 3,095 on Friday, data provided by Union Health ministry showed.

As of Friday, the toll rose to 5,30,867. There were five deaths in the past 24 hours — one each reported by Goa and Gujarat and three reconciled by Kerala, PTI reported citing health ministry's 8 am data.

The daily positivity was at 2.61 per cent, with the weekly positivity pegged at 1.91 per cent.


With this, the total tally of Covid cases in the country reached 4,47,15,786.

Active cases now account for 0.03 per cent of the total infections. The latest pan-India recovery rate is at 98.78 per cent now, as per the ministry website.

The number of Indians who have recuperated from Covid is at about 4.41 crore (4,41,69,711) now. The latest case fatality is at 1.19 per cent.

According to official figures, till now, as many as 220.65 crore vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide drive.
