India names Neelkanth Mishra as executive director at World Bank

Mishra's appointment, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, is for three years from the date of the assumption of the charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier, according to a notification by the Department of Personnel and Training.
The ED for India at the World Bank also represents Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.
Mishra, who has been a part-time member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, has held several key roles in his professional career. He is the chief economist at Axis Bank and heads global research at Axis Capital.
He was also a part-time chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India and a part-time member of TRAI.
