India is one of the key pillars of a multipolar world order and the Kazan BRICS Summit gave momentum to the concept of multipolarity, according to Dmitry Kiselev, General Director of Sputnik News Agency, who was on a recent visit to India.

He noted that the recent BRICS summit in Kazan was the culmination of processes initiated in the early 21st century.

Kiselev, one of Russia’s top TV presenters, said that the Kazan BRICS Summit resulted from processes that started in the early 21st century, when Vladimir Putin became president of Russia and the country started to build a multipolar world.

He also pointed out that Russia and the U.S. maintain a global nuclear balance, and without Russia, the world would lack a counterbalance to U.S. military dominance. Moscow “underscores the need for a balanced global architecture while addressing escalating arms races and military threats,” he added.

When asked about conditions for negotiated settlement to the Ukraine conflict Kiselev said that two conditions are non-NATO status for Ukraine and lifting of sanctions against Russia.
