India has sought action against eight Canada-based gangsters associated with Sikh terrorism and separatism and have alleged links with Pakistani agents.

A key figure on that list is Sandeep Singh Sidhu, an employee of the Canada Border Service Agency who was recently promoted to the rank of a 'superintendent', ET has learnt. He is allegedly associated with pro-Khalistan terrorists including Lakhbir Singh Rode as well as US-based Gurjot Kaur. Kaur claims herself as the widow of Pakistan-based KLF chief Harmeet Singh and has close ties with Pak-ISI officers.

Arshdeep Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla is another person on the list. Sources said he is an expert in motivating youth for committing crime in India. Punjab Police has issued a look out circular against him.

Charanjit Singh alias Rinku Randhawa, a gangster and pro-Khalistan radical whose name figures on the list, is involved in more than 25 criminal cases including murder, attempt to murder and extortion, sources said. Others include Ramandeep Singh, brother of jailed gangster Gagan Judge of Jaipal Bhullar Gang.

Lakhbir Singh alias Landa was instrumental in carrying out two RPG terror attacks - one on the Punjab Police headquarters in Mohali and the other on the Sirhali Police Station in Punjab. NIA had announced a reward of ₹15 lakh for providing information that leads to his arrest. Sukhdul Singh alias Sukha Duneke is a wanted gangster in Punjab with more than 30 criminal cases registered against him. The state police had issued a look out circular against him.
