RSS joint general secretary Krishna Gopal on Thursday said that India is in a position to send wheat to Pakistan to avert the food crisis in the country.

He was speaking at a function organised by film producer Iqbal Durrani to translate Sam Veda into Persian language. RSS leader Indresh Kumar was also present at the function at Sainik Farms in Delhi.

“ People in Pakistan abuse us everyday but we feel they should also live happily. We feel sad that wheat floor is getting sold at Rs 250 per kg in Pakistan. India can give 25 to 50.lakh tons of wheat to Pakistan but they are not asking for it. India has surplus wheat and rather than leaving the people of Pakistan to die. India can send surplus wheat to Pakistan. They were with us 70 years ago. There is no point of such a distance. Pakistan has fought with us four times. They only attack us be it 1948, 1965, 1971 or Kargil. Despite that this must be in people of India’s .mind that we should send wheat to Pakistan,” Krishna Gopal said addressing the function.

Krishna Gopal said that we belive in Sarve Bhavantu Sukhina, everyone should be happy. “There is so much intolerance in the world. Just about a months ago a bomb blast happened at a mosque in Pakistan and hundred people died. Its surprising that those who killed and those who died both were the follower of Quran. What was the fight about? What is the matter of fight in Afghanistan and Syria. The entire world has become intolerant,” he added.

Krishna Gopal further said that India has unity in diversity and all sects and religions exist peacefully in the country. “There are 73 sects of Islam and there is no other country than India where all are there and all have equal rights. The Ahmedia community have no right in Pakistan but they have equal rights in India,” he added.

Krishna Gopal is the man behind the RSS effort to reach out to Muslim community. In recent times on his initiative, meeting of Muslim intellectuals with RSS leaders hae taken place.
