During the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and India were discussed, issues of cooperation in the fields of economic and trade relations, energy, tourism and education were reviewed, according to Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry statement.
At the same time, positions on issues of disagreement between the two countries were brought to attention, and the importance of dialogue in this direction was emphasized, according to the statement.
The two sides exchanged views on regional and international security issues, including the current tensions in the Middle East. The importance of ensuring stability and security in the region was noted. In addition, gratitude was expressed to the Azerbaijani side for the support provided in the evacuation of Indian citizens from Iran, according to the statement.
The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and India. The political consultations were led by Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov on the Azerbaijani side and Sibi George on the Indian side.
