Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met his Singapore counterpart Lawrence Wong and the two countries signed four MoUs aimed at bolstering cooperation between the two countries. The agreements focus on key areas including semiconductor cluster development and the cultivation of talent in semiconductor design and manufacturing.

Ahead of the talks with Wong, Modi received a red-carpet welcome at the Singapore Parliament House. He also signed the visitor's book there.

The meeting between the two leaders comes days after Wong took over and Modi began his third term as prime minister.

The two leaders also oversaw the exchange of four MoUs after the talks.

Arriving in Singapore on Wednesday, Modi's visit marks a crucial step in deepening the strategic partnership between India and Singapore. This visit comes at the invitation of Singapore's Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong, following Modi's recent visit to Brunei.

Modi's delegation includes prominent figures such as Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The visit is significant as Modi last visited Singapore in 2018.
