Operational focus during festival rush

Separately, DMRC registered its highest-ever single-day ridership on August 8, 2025, with a total of 81,87,674 passenger journeys recorded across all lines. According to the corporation, the record-breaking numbers reflected increased travel demand ahead of the Raksha Bandhan festival.

To manage the passenger load, DMRC operated 92 additional train trips on August 8 and scheduled 455 extra trips for August 9. These adjustments were aimed at improving train frequency and reducing crowding for commuters.

The metro operator noted that it routinely implements operational changes during major festivals. For Raksha Bandhan, more trains were deployed during peak hours, and additional crowd management efforts were put in place at key interchange stations to maintain smooth passenger flow.
