Independence Day 2023: Flight restrictions imposed at Delhi airport. Check details
Delhi airport has issued an advisory ahead of Independence Day stating that non-scheduled flights will not be permitted to land or take off, with restrictions in place for general-aviation flights and non-scheduled charter flights.

As per the advisory, non-scheduled flights will not be allowed to land or take off at the Delhi airport. There will not be any restrictions on scheduled flights, though.
The Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) that comes under the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) in this regard. A NOTAM is a notice containing information that is essential for personnel involved in flight operations.
As per the notice, in view of Independence Day celebrations, landing or take-off for non-scheduled flights of schedule airlines and general aviation flights (non-scheduled charter flights) will not be allowed from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
There will be no impact of NOTAM on the IAF, BSF, or Army aviation helicopters.
State-owned aircraft or helicopters can also fly with the governor or chief minister of state.
Apart from scheduled flights of scheduled operators, flights undertaking quick response time missions and casualty/immediate medical evacuation will also be permitted.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has imposed prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144 near areas such as Rajghat, ITO, and Red Fort ahead of Independence Day.
"In view of Independence Day celebrations, Section 144 of CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) has been invoked in areas nearby Rajghat, ITO, Red Fort, etc. No gathering of any kind is permitted in these areas," Delhi Police said in a tweet earlier.
Independence Day will be celebrated on August 15, during which the prime minister addresses the nation from the Red Fort.
