The Morbi bridge collapse tragedy is urgently in need of a "deep and exhaustive" investigation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday while presiding over a high-level conference to assess the situation.

The Morbi bridge collapse tragedy is urgently in need of a "deep and exhaustive" investigation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday while presiding over a high-level conference to assess the situation.

He insisted that the inquiry's most important lessons must be put into practise as soon as possible, according to authorities.

After being briefed on the rescue operation and the assistance given to the impacted families, he stated that authorities must remain in contact with the families and ensure that they receive all possible care at this unfortunate hour.


Among those present at the meeting were Gujarat's Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, a minister of state.

Earlier, Modi went to the location of the bridge collapse and the nearby hospital where the injured are undergoing the treatment. Additionally, he interacted with people engaged in rescue and relief operations and praised their efforts.
