The IMD announced the weakening of Cyclone ASNA in a post on X.
"Deep Depression (Remnant of CS ASNA) over northwest Arabian Sea weakened into a depression & lay centered at 05.30 hrs IST of 2 Sep over the same region about 200km southeast of Ras Al Hadd (Oman). Likely to weaken gradually into a well-marked low-pressure area during next 6 hours,” the agency stated.
As the cyclone diminishes, widespread light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in West and Central India throughout the week. For Gujarat's Saurashtra and Kutch regions, isolated very heavy rainfall is likely on September 2 and 3.
IMD Weather Alert: Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
Amid the floods in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, rains are expected to subside starting Monday morning, offering some respite to the affected districts.“Depression over southeast Vidarbha & nbd lay centered at 05.30hrs IST of 2 Sep over East Vidarbha & adj Telangana about 110 km south of Bramhapuri (Maharashtra) and 80 km east-southeast of Chandrapur (Maharashtra). Likely to weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area during next 12 hrs,” mentioned the IMD in a bulletin.
However, an orange alert remains in place for both states. Isolated very heavy rainfall is predicted over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam from September 2 to 5. In addition, isolated heavy rainfall is also anticipated in these regions over the next few days.

For Mumbai, light to moderate rainfall is predicted on Monday. The IMD has forecasted, “generally cloudy sky with possibility of light to moderate rain and thundershowers in the city and its suburbs” over the next 24 hours.IMD Rain Alert: Delhi

In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, heavy rains have led to the cancellation of over 140 trains, necessitating the deployment of 26 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams.
Despite anticipations of reduced rainfall, authorities continue to monitor weather patterns closely to respond to any further adverse developments.
