Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala & Mahe, and Coastal & South Interior Karnataka over the next five days, according to IMD. Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh will also experience heavy rainfall from July 14-17. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal will have heavy rain on July 15 and 16. Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam will see heavy rain from July 14-15, and Marathwada from July 14-16. Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan & Goa, the ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra from July 13-16, Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka on July 14-15, and Gujarat Region on July 14 and 16. Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall between Saturday night and Sunday, causing severe waterlogging in various parts of the city. The Andheri Subway and areas near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport were particularly affected. The downpour also led to major traffic jams on the Western Express Highway. Situation in Valsad, Gujarat
Heavy rains in Valsad on Saturday increased the water level in Madhuban Dam, as reported by the Disaster Management Authority. Many low-lying areas were inundated, and the national highway was flooded. Disaster management teams were deployed to drain water from affected areas. In response to rising water levels, authorities released 10,000 cusecs of water from the dam in the morning and 50,000 cusecs in the evening.
