IAS Association writes to Bihar deploring release of convict in Gopalganj DM's murder case

The Bihar government, earlier today, issued a notification regarding the release of 27 prisoners including former Lok Sabha MP Anand Mohan Singh from jail.

The Late Krishnaiah's wife Uma Devi alleged that Singh is being released from jail for getting Rajput votes in Bihar.
The Central IAS Association has conveyed dismay at the decision of the Bihar Government to release the convicts of the brutal killing of Late G Krishnaiah, IAS, former DM of Gopalganj.

Such dilution leads to impunity, the IAS body said in a communique to the Bihar govt on Tuesday.

The Bihar government, earlier today, issued a notification regarding the release of 27 prisoners including former Lok Sabha MP Anand Mohan Singh from jail.

Anand Singh was convicted in the 1994 murder of Gopalganj DM G Krishnaiah who was lynched by a mob near Bihar's Muzaffarpur district in 1994.

Singh was given a death sentence by a local court in 2007. His sentence, however, was later commuted to life imprisonment by the Patna HC.
