'I can live in India...': JD Vance shares son’s remark, touched by Modi’s warmth and hospitality
During his visit to Rajasthan on Tuesday, US Vice President JD Vance shared a light-hearted moment from his family dinner with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Vance said, “After the great dinner at the PM’s house yesterday, my 7-year-old son said maybe I can live in India.” He added that his children were deeply touched by Modi’s warmth and hospitality.

“Our kids just like him. And I think that, because kids have such strong characters, I just like Prime Minister Modi too. And I think it’s a great foundation for the future of the relationship,” said US Vice President JD Vance, talking about PM Modi.

On a more serious note, Vance discussed trade talks between the two countries. “We are looking at access to Indian markets, and we know that PM Modi is a tough negotiator. But we don’t blame him; he’s defending what’s right for India,” he said.

Vance is in India for a four-day trip, and his remarks came a day after meeting PM Modi in New Delhi. His visit comes as both nations push to finalise a trade deal before the end of a 90-day pause on tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump’s administration.
