Hyderabad weather update: The weather department has forecast generally cloudy sky and light to moderate Rain very likely to occur in the city over this weekend.

In view of incessant rains, the government of Telangana has declared two-day holiday (July 21 and 22) for all government offices and educational institutions in Hyderabad.
Rains continued to lash some parts of Telangana for the fourth day in a row, including Hyderabad, causing water logging and traffic snarls at several localities of the city. The Telangana government had announced holidays for all educational institutions and government offices in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Friday and Saturday. Earlier, the government announced a two-day holiday for all educational institutions in the state after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a rain warning.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rains in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Telangana during next 5 days.

"Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Kerala, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Telangana during next 5 days. Scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely over Telangana on 21st and isolated very heavy rainfall very likely over Coastal & South Interior Karnataka on 23rd north Interior Karnataka on 21st July and over north Coastal Andhra Pradesh on 25th July," the weather department said in its latest update.


Weather forecast for Hyderabad City and Suburbs
Next 24 hours: "Generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain at times heavy spells very likely to occur in the city. Maximum and Minimum Temperatures are likely to be around 24oC and 22oC respectively. Surface winds are likely to be Westerlies/North- Westerlies with wind speeds around 12-16 kmph," the weather department said.

Next 48 hours: "Generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate Rain very likely to occur in the city. Maximum and Minimum Temperatures are likely to be around 25oC and 23oC respectively. Surface winds are likely to be Westerlies/North-Westerlies with wind speeds around 08-12 kmph," the weather department said.

The weather department also said that a fresh low pressure area is likely to form over northwest & adjoining West central Bay of Bengal off south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts around 24th July.
