Hyderabad rains today trended on social media as netizens shared videos of rains that brought slight relief from heat. Monsoon typically reaches Telangana in second week of June. According to India Meteorological Department, favorable conditions are expected to facilitate the Southwest Monsoon's further progression into additional regions, including parts of the central Arabian Sea, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and coastal Andhra Pradesh, as well as Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal within the next 2-3 days. Currently, a cyclonic circulation persists over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and its vicinity, now situated over the westcentral area adjoining the southwest Bay of Bengal, extending from the south Coastal Andhra Pradesh to the north Tamil Nadu coasts at an altitude of 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Over the next 24 hours, the city is anticipated to experience a generally cloudy sky with occasional light to moderate rain or thundershowers, possibly accompanied by intense spells and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph towards the evening or night, according to IMD. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach around 39°C, while minimum temperatures may hover around 27°C. Surface winds are likely to be westerlies to northwesterlies, with speeds ranging from 08-12 kmph.

For the subsequent 48 hours, Hyderabad, according to IMD, is forecast to have a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds ranging from 30-40 kmph in certain areas. Maximum temperatures are predicted to be around 37°C, with minimum temperatures around 26°C. Surface winds are anticipated to remain westerlies to northwesterlies, with speeds averaging 06-10 kmph.
