The death of Renuka Agarwal, 50, the wife of steel businessman Rakesh Agarwal by two domestic helpers from her building has sent shockwaves across the city. She was found murdered in her Swan Lake condominium near Kukatpally near Y junction in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening.

According to TOI, she was tied up and stabbed to death, after which the assailants stole her gold ornaments and cash from the house. After the murder, the duo fled away on a on a two-wheeler owned by one of the domestic help's employers.

The police told TOI, the family’s domestic help Harsha with another domestic help named Roushan tied up the woman and then stabbed her to death using scissors and a knife. They stole the four tolas of gold (estimated at around four lakhs) that Renuka was wearing and some cash from cupboards, estimated to be around one lakh.




The family had hired Harsha, a Ranchi native, about 10 days ago through a manpower supplier named Shankar from Kolkata. After committing the crime he along with his accomplice Roushan fled towards KPHB colony on a two wheeler owned by Roushan’s employers.

The crime was discovered in the evening when Renuka’s husband and son came home and alerted the police. After verifying the CCTV footage the police found the assailants using the lift to get on the ground floor and escape the complex at 5:02 pm; their exit was caught by multiple CCTV's in the complex.

A senior police officer who spoke to TOI said that the accused might have fled to Ranchi and they have made a team to nab them. The clues team has collected fingerprints from the crime scene and the body has been sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered under sections 103 (1) (murder) under BNS.

The incident has spread panic among the residents. Deputy Commissioner of police (Balanagar) visited the crime spot.
