The Hyderabad city police banned the use of DJ sound systems and bursting of crackers within in the city to regulate excessive noise during religious processions.

The police organised a round table discussion with all stakeholders and reached this decision. The move comes as a response to the increasing use of DJ systems and firecrackers during events.

On September 20, city police commissioner CV Anand issued prohibitory orders, which came into effect immediately. The order also applies to DJ mixers, sound amplifiers, and other sound-generating equipment capable of producing loud noise.

The use of sound systems will be allowed, but in a restricted manner. It must adhere to government-approved decibel limits and with prior clearance from the police for both organisers and equipment suppliers.

Violations of these orders will be dealt with strictly, and legal action will be taken against offenders, mentioned the notification. The commissioner also instructed all Station House Officers to ensure strict enforcement of these orders.
