Hybrid militant killed during Kulgam operation: Police
Police informed that the suspected hybrid militant was identified as Sajad Ahmad Tantray who was arrested in connection with an attack on non-locals in Bijbehara area of Anantnag in southern Kashmir in which a non-local labourer died.

"Tantray has confessed to his involvement in the said terror crime by using an illegally obtained pistol which stands recovered," read the official statement.
Police said Tantray informed about the presence of militants in an area following which a joint cordon and search operation was launched.
"While the search party approached the suspected hideout identified by the accused Sajad, they came under heavy fire from terrorists in which Sajad received critical gunshot injuries. He was shifted to hospital where he was declared as brought dead," read the official statement. Police said Sajad was associated with LeT and detained under the Public Safety Act, 2019.
The search operation continued till late evening. Meanwhile, police in Srinagar, along with the army, arrested three alleged hybrid terrorists and seized a huge consignment of arms and ammunition including three AK rifles, two pistols, nine magazines, 200 rounds of ammunition and other incriminating material.
