Huge rush of devotees creates chaos at Ram Mandir, police advise public to not visit Ayodhya

Following the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Lalla concluded in Ayodhya on Monday, a huge influx of worshipers, seeking to offer prayers, created a scene of chaos today at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Devotees, keen to catch a glimpse of Shri Ram Lalla, began arriving as early as 3 a.m. in the wake of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony conducted the preceding day. The grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya was open to the public today.

As per reports, people broke the security parameters set by the security forces at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.



Uttar Pradesh police reportedly resorted to lathi charge to control the situation. Meanwhile, Barabanki Police have issued an advisory for devotees wanting to come to Ayodhya to not come due to overcrowding. Barabanki district falls between Lucknow and Ayodhya. Traffic towards Ayodhya has been diverted from Barabanki, about 30 km from Lucknow, and devotees travelling by foot were also stopped, police said. UP government has also issued another advisory to mediapersons to not stop the devotees on roads for media bytes.


Several videos of injured pilgrims being taken to hospital have also gone viral on social media. However, there has been no official information about any incident to injury at the Ram Temple.


Earlier in the day, the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Acharya Satyendra Das, expressed his joy as a large number of devotees flocked to Ayodhya. He remarked that the temple town has reverted to the era of 'Treta Yug' (the second of four Yugas in Hinduism), a period believed to be when Lord Ram resided.

The 'Pran Pratishtha' of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya was marked by jubilant celebrations yesterday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the main rituals alongside a select group of priests. Festivities reverberated nationwide to commemorate Lord Ram's return to his throne.

The global spotlight turned to 'Ram Nagri' Ayodhya, adorned with illuminated earthen lamps and dazzling fireworks across the city. Joyful scenes unfolded at the famous Saryu Ghat, with locals expressing their devotion to Ram Lalla.

The 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony, presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took place at 12:29 pm on Monday, following a seven-day ritual that commenced on January 16. Representatives from major spiritual and religious sects, as well as various tribal communities, attended the ceremony.

The unveiling of the idol of Ram Lalla followed the 'Pran Pratistha' rituals. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, spans 380 feet in length and 250 feet in width. Rising 161 feet above the ground, it is supported by 392 pillars and 44 doors. The temple's pillars and walls intricately depict Hindu deities. In the sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor, the idol of Shri Ramlalla, representing the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram, is enthroned.
