Undoubtedly displaying a knack for innovation, these likely rookie criminals aimed to seize the temple's donation box. However, their audacious plan hit an unexpected roadblock in the form of vigilant stray dogs. As they attempted to make their escape, the dogs' furious barking alerted the neighborhood, disrupting the thieves' robbery plan.
In an attempt reminiscent of the adrenaline-fueled escapades seen in 70s Bollywood movies, two thieves recently opted for an unconventional mode of transport - horseback - for a heist at the Radha-Mohan temple near KDA Dharamshala in Barra-6 in Kanpur on the night of December 20.

One of the culprits dismounted the horse in an effort to grab the donation box. Despite their determination, the fixed 'daan patra' proved difficult to dislodge. The commotion attracted the attention of local residents, roused by the incessant barking.

As the situation unfolded, the thieves hastily retreated, mounting their horse once more. The entire incident, captured on video, went viral on social media, shedding light on this peculiar crime.

The temple's caretaker, Nikhil Soni, promptly reported the incident to the police on December 21. Law enforcement, led by Barra police station in-charge Dinesh Bisht, swiftly responded, launching an investigation into the attempted theft at the temple.

Acknowledging the complaint filed by the temple priest, Bisht stated, "Police have initiated an investigation to apprehend the horse-riding thieves."
