A significant number of these booking requests are coming from travel agents who aim to reserve rooms and later charge devotees exorbitant rates during the week of the inauguration ceremony, which is likely to be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Ram Mandir Trust's General Secretary, Champat Rai, mentioned that around 10,000 guests would attend the consecration ceremony. Although they have provided the dates to the PM between January 15 and January 24, the final date will be determined by him.
With the rising excitement among people outside Ayodhya following the announcement of the PM's invitation, a large number of devotees are expected to flock to Ayodhya in January.
As a result, Ayodhya's hospitality establishments, including hotels, guest houses, and Dharmshalas, are receiving inquiries for advance bookings from various metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
Given the anticipated heavy rush, online travel agents are also offering booking options in nearby places like Gonda, Balrampur, Tarabganj, Domariyaganj, Tanda, Musafirkhana, and Bansi.
The Ayodhya administration has advised hotel owners to prepare for the influx of devotees by ensuring their properties are clean and well-maintained. Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal held a meeting with hotel owners, urging them to decorate their establishments to warmly welcome the guests during and after the ceremony, as the number of visitors is expected to increase significantly.
