“These woman entrepreneurs are very good in English, French, Spanish, and German among others,” said Brijesh Goyal, chairman of Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) that hired them. “We have sent the list to the foreign minister for coordination,” he said.
While prominent markets such as Connaught Place, Khan Market, Yashwant Place and Janpath will remain closed for security reasons, shopkeepers of markets such as South Extension, Karol Bagh and Chandni Chowk are hopeful that foreign delegates attending the summit will come looking for souvenirs and gifts to take back home.
Traders said this is the best opportunity to showcase ‘Make in India’ products as delegates from the world’s largest economies are in the national capital.
Those in restricted areas rued the missed opportunity.
