‘Hit by climate we did not warm, wars we did not start’: Nepal PM’s hard-hitting speech at UNGA

Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah delivered a hard-hitting address at the UN General Assembly, questioning a global system where weapons can cross borders rapidly while farmers struggle to access fertiliser and fuel. Shah also warned that climate change is destabilising the Himalayas and proposed a Himalayan Climate Resilience Mechanism led by Nepal, India and China, focused on data sharing, glacier monitoring and joint early-warning systems.
