Hindu Kush region hit by 5.8 magnitude earthquake; tremors felt in Delhi-NCR

Tremors from the quake were felt in Kabul, Islamabad and other parts of Pakistan, as well as Delhi NCR. The quake struck at a depth of 189 km, according to GFZ.

Late on Thursday, an earthquake hit Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region. According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the quake measured in at 5.8 on the Richter scale.

Tremors from the quake were felt in Kabul, Islamabad and other parts of Pakistan, as well as Delhi NCR. The quake struck at a depth of 189 km, according to GFZ.

The tremors mark the second time this week that the national capital has felt an earthquake, with the region experiencing an earthquake on New Year's day that measured in at 3.8 on the Richter scale.


Today's tremors were felt at around 8 pm.
