Himani Narwal murder: CCTV exposes accused Sachin carrying black suitcase stuffed with body

Authorities have released CCTV footage showing Sachin, the accused, carrying a black suitcase containing the body of Haryana Congress worker Himani Narwal. The footage, dated 28 February, has been confirmed as authentic by the police.

Accused Confesses to the Crime

On Monday, Sachin confessed to the crime, police said. The 32-year-old allegedly strangled 22-year-old Himani with a phone charging cable on 27 February at her home in Rohtak’s Vijay Nagar area. After killing her, he packed her body in a suitcase and dumped it near the Sampla bus stand on the highway.


Sachin also took valuables, including a laptop, jewellery, and other items from Himani’s home, and hid them at his mobile phone shop in Jhajjar, police said.

Possible Motive Behind the Murder

Police believe the murder may have been due to a financial dispute between Sachin and Himani, but this is yet to be confirmed. The two had known each other for about a year and a half after meeting on social media. During the investigation, authorities found bite marks and scratches on Sachin’s hands, suggesting a struggle.

Swift Police Investigation

Additional DGP K K Rao said Sachin, who runs a mobile phone shop in Jhajjar, was arrested in Delhi.

“When the body was found, we formed eight teams, including a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Our priority was to identify the victim. Once the family identified her, the police acted quickly to track down the accused,” Rao said.

He added that Sachin regularly visited Himani’s home and was there on 27 February when they had a heated argument.

Accused in Police Custody

Sachin was presented before a Rohtak court on Monday and was sent to a three-day police remand.

“There was a monetary issue between them, but we need to verify all details before confirming the motive. The accused claims they had a fight, and in the heat of the moment, he strangled her,” the ADGP said.

The police continue their investigation into the case.
