Himachal Pradesh adjusts monsoon break in schools after rain fury, issues advisory for CBSE/ICSE schools
The Himachal Pradesh education directorate however said that schools should take "to keep the total number of vacation days the same, so that the teaching days would remain the same."

"The government/private schools functioning in the State and affiliated to CBSE/ICSE/any other Education Board may take the decision regarding closing of schools at their own level keeping in view their exigencies i.e. ongoing Exams etc. & local weather conditions. It is further advised that safety and security of students and employees be ensured at every level," the Himachal Pradesh directorate of higher education said in a notification.
The Himachal Pradesh government has also decided to reschedule and prepone/adjust the monsoon break in Government/Private Schools affiliated to HP Board of School Education for current session in many areas including
Kullu District, Lahaul & Spiti District, Kinnaur, Pangi and Bharmour (Tribal Areas) and other winter closing schools. (Click here for the Himachal Pradesh govt notification)
The education directorate also said that "every care has been taken to keep the total number of vacation days the same, so that the teaching days would remain the same."
The state of Himachal Pradesh has been among the worst hit due to recent rainfall in north India. Northwest India saw incessant rainfall during the last three days, with many areas in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan recording "heavy to extremely heavy" precipitation.
In Himachal Pradesh, an Indian Air Force helicopter was requisitioned to airlift the tourists stranded at Chandertal in Lahaul and Spiti district but it had to return due to bad weather conditions.
The weather department in its latest forecast said that there is likely to be significant reduction in rainfall over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana & Chandigarh from today. (With Agency Inputs)
