According to TOI, a private engineering college based in Gudivada of the Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh was in uproar as students alleged that a fourth year student was involved in the crime. The accused reportedly sold the footage extracted from these cameras to boys.
Police has nabbed the prime accused student Vijay, who allegedly committed the crime with the assistance of another student. His phone and laptop have been seized by authorities for verification and further investigation, according to sources aware of the matter.
The situation late Thursday was tense on the college campus, with students chanting 'we want justice'. Police was called in to bring the situation under control, with protesters dispersing only after 3:30AM in the morning.

"I have ordered an enquiry on hidden cameras allegations. Stringent action will be taken against the culprits and people responsible. I directed officials to ensure that these kinds of incidents do not recur in colleges," said Lokesh in a post on 'X'.
The engineering college is located at Gudlavalleru in Krishna district.
