Heavy rains in Mumbai cause waterlogging in low-lying areas

A representative for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that no reports of waterlogging had been received. Local trains, according to the Central and Western Railways, were operating as usual. However, a few passengers reported a ten to fifteen minute delay in Central Railway services.
According to a representative of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) initiative, the rain caused no bus routes to be rerouted anywhere in the city or suburbs.
Mumbai is expected to see moderate to heavy rains, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the official stated. He stated that there will be two high tides in the Arabian Sea: one at 10.03 am, measuring 3.78 metres, and another at 9.35 pm, measuring 3.23 metres.
"Dadar station, Parel, Hindmata are currently waterlogged. Please travel safely. The route from east to west (Dadar, Prabhadevi , Lower Parel) bridges are jammed. People travelling from Borivali or Thane to Mumbai please take care," one user posted on X.
Following two to three days of mostly light rain, the intensity of the rain increased starting on Wednesday night, with more showers occurring in the island city than in the suburbs.
According to a local official, the island city saw an average of 83 mm of rain in the 24 hours that ended at 8 am, with 45 mm in the east and 39 mm in the west.
