Heavy CAPF security outside Mamata's residence; TMC alleges 'House Arrest' ahead of Baruipur visit

Security was tightened outside TMC chief and former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's residence ahead of her proposed visit to Baruipur, where protests have followed after an incident with a minor girl. Central Armed Police Forces were deployed outside her residence, prompting TMC leaders to question whether she had been placed under ‘house arrest.’ TMC MP Dola Sen and senior advocate Baiswanor Chatterjee criticised the heavy deployment, calling it excessive and ‘not good for democracy.’
