In a major setback for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Bombay High Court on Wednesday dismissed its plea challenging an arbitration award and directed the cricket board to pay Rs 538 crore to the now-defunct IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

The BCCI is yet to issue an official response. It is unclear whether the board will challenge the decision in the Supreme Court.

This ruling marks another legal closure in the long-standing IPL franchise dispute that has lingered for over a decade.
