Haryana allots ₹5,000 crore for Lado Lakshmi Yojana
Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini presented his first state budget, promising ₹2,100 per month to the state's women. He allocated ₹5,000 crore for its implementation. Opposition leaders raised concerns about the fund's sufficiency. Saini mentioned that...

Opposition leaders questioned whether this fund will be sufficient to cover all the women aged 18 to 60 years of age in the state. There are roughly around 75 lakh women in the age bracket and the total fund required for one month would be more than ₹1,500 crores and the allotted ₹5,000 crore won't last beyond the third months of the payment.
Saini said the government is working on preparing the criteria for eligibility of the scheme and would be announced soon. The state might go into phase wise implementation of the scheme targeting women of lower income families at first and then including the women from higher bracket families. The chief minister, however, said that the budget allocation will be increased as per the requirement going forward.
