Nijjar's son Balraj recently claimed that Canadian intelligence service officers met his father several times earlier this year, including closer to the killing. Leading Canadian media houses reported that Balraj also attended some of these meetings.
"Balraj Singh Nijjar, 21, said his father had been meeting with Canadian Security Intelligence Service officers 'once or twice a week', including one or two days before the June 18 murder, with another meeting scheduled for two days after his death," as per a report in Vancouver Sun.
It is being suspected that Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a wanted terrorist in India, may have also acted as an asset for Canadian security services given the frequency of the meetings, sources said.
