Harbhajan Singh; and Kamran Akmal
Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has strongly criticized former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal for a racial joke directed at Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh. A video circulating on social media shows Akmal making the controversial remark on a Pakistani news channel during a match. The incident occurred during the 19th over of Pakistan's batting innings, with India nearing victory and Arshdeep Singh set to bowl the final over. Akmal's comment, which targeted Arshdeep's religion, triggered an immediate reaction from Harbhajan Singh.

Harbhajan's Criticises Kamran Akmal

Harbhajan took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his anger. "Lakh di laanat tere Kamraan Akhmal.. You should know the history of Sikhs before u open ur filthy mouth. We Sikhs saved ur mothers and sisters when they were abducted by invaders, the time invariably was 12 o’clock . Shame on you…Have some Gratitude @KamiAkmal23," he posted.

Public Outrage

Akmal's comment sparked widespread outrage among fans and cricket enthusiasts. Many condemned the remark as inappropriate and insensitive, expressing disappointment and anger towards the former Pakistani cricketer.

Akmal's Apology

In response to the backlash, Kamran Akmal issued a public apology for his remarks about Arshdeep Singh. The apology aimed to address the controversy and calm the situation.

In the match, Indian bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah, secured a thrilling six-run victory over Pakistan. Bumrah's exceptional performance (3/14) and Hardik Pandya's support (2/24) were crucial in defending a modest total of 120, restricting Pakistan to 113 for seven.

Earlier, Pakistan's pacers Naseem Shah and Mohammad Amir had impressive spells, bowling out India for 119 after rain interruptions. Despite these efforts, India's bowling unit ensured their team's victory.
