In the aftermath of the arrest of alleged terrorists from Gujarat and subsequent blast in New Delhi, Gujarat Police carried out a special drive and conducted intensive verification of the accused arrested in anti-national activities during the last 30 years.

Police examined 31,834 accused, who were involved in serious offences under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), TADA, NDPS, Arms Act, Explosives Act and fake Indian currency cases, and other crimes, over the last 30 years.

The police carried out the drive following a meeting on November 17. Out of 31,834, 11,880 accused were found, 2,326 are dead, 3,744 have changed their addresses and 4,506 are living outside Gujarat.
