Grenade hurled at railway work site along Assam-Nagaland border, fails to explode

Diphu: A grenade was allegedly hurled at a railway construction site along the Assam-Nagaland border in Karbi Anglong district, officials said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday afternoon at Rongaphar Siding in the Dhansiri area, where railway work is currently underway, they said.

The grenade failed to explode, and no injuries or damage were reported, they said.


A police team has been dispatched to the spot, and an investigation has been started to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible, they added.
