Bengaluru: Karnataka's industries minister MB Patil on Monday held an investment roadshow in Kolkata, meeting senior executives from several companies as the state stepped up efforts to attract fresh investments and industrial expansion.

The companies included interior infrastructure firm Greenply Industries, solar module maker Vikram Solar, graphite electrode manufacturer Graphite India, mining and mineral processing company Tega Industries, agro-processing firm Regal Resources and textile manufacturer Rupa & Co.

Patil, who led a high-level state government delegation, urged the companies to prioritise Karnataka for new investments and capacity expansion while pitching the state's Beyond Bengaluru initiative aimed at driving industrial growth in tier-II cities, the industries department said in a statement.

The minister asked investors to explore opportunities in Vijayapura, Tumakuru, Belagavi and Hubballi, highlighting the availability of land, water and power, and assuring full government support for new projects, added the statement.

He said the state sees significant potential in sectors such as electric vehicle manufacturing, renewable and recycled fuels, and agro-processing, and invited company delegations to visit Karnataka to assess project opportunities.

During the discussions, Patil encouraged Regal Resources, which currently manufactures maize-based products, to diversify into processing toor dal and other agricultural commodities.
