Delhi Pollution: Cm Atishi Authorizes Online Classes
In response to increasing air pollution in the nation's capital, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi declared on Sunday night that all students would no longer attend physical classes, with the exception of those in classes 10 and 12.

"With the imposition of GRAP-4 from tomorrow, physical classes shall be discontinued for all students, apart from Class 10 and 12. All schools will hold online classes, until further orders," the Delhi Chief Minister wrote on X.

In light of the current pattern of declining air quality in the National Capital Region, the Sub-Committee called for the implementation of all measures outlined in Stage-IV of GRAP—"Severe+" Air Quality (Delhi's AQI > 450)—with effect from 8 a.m. on November 18 (tomorrow) throughout the entire NCR.

This is on top of the already-existing preventive and restrictive measures outlined in GRAP Stages I, II, and III. Pollution Control Boards (PCBs) of the NCR and DPCC, as well as other agencies in charge of carrying out GRAP measures, have also been advised to make sure that, during this time, all actions under Stage-I, Stage-II, and Stage-III of GRAP that are already in effect are strictly implemented.

Delhi Schools Grap 4 Changes

1. Even for Classes 6 through 9, as well as Class 11, the NCR state governments and GNCTD may decide to stop holding in-person classes and instead offer online classes.

2. Additional emergency measures, such as closing universities and other educational institutions and non-emergency commercial activity, allowing vehicles to be driven on an odd-even basis based on registration numbers, etc., may be considered by state governments.

Additionally, in addition to the Stage-I, Stage-II, and Stage-III Citizen Charters, CAQM calls on the people of the National Capital Region to uphold the GRAP Citizen Charter and support the efficient execution of the GRAP measures intended to maintain and enhance the region's air quality.
