The Goa children’s court has granted permission to the father of Suchana Seth, the AI analyst accused of killing her four-year-old son, to have her mental health examined by a board of doctors under the Mental Healthcare Act. Adv Franco, who represented Seth's father, informed the media that following the court's decision, the police will need to present Seth before the board for further assessment of her mental health.

According to reports, the Goa Police had initially opposed the plea, claiming that Seth had undergone regular health checkups, including assessments of her mental health condition, while in custody. They stated that Seth had provided clear and rational answers during these assessments, showing no signs of mental illness such as active death wishes, suicidal tendencies, or psychotic symptoms.

Seth, the founder and CEO of The Mindful AI Lab, an artificial intelligence consultancy, was arrested after allegedly murdering her four-year-old son in a Goa hotel on the night of January 7-8. The crime was discovered when Seth was apprehended in Karnataka's Chitradurga district, around 160 km from Bengaluru.

The court's decision to allow the examination of Seth's mental health comes amid ongoing investigations into the case. Further updates regarding this development are awaited as the legal proceedings progress.
