Global South in front row of crisis, back row of decisions: Jaishankar

New Delhi: External affairs minister S Jaishankar has called for greater solidarity among Global South countries, saying they were bearing the brunt of global crises while having limited say in decisions shaping their future.

"The Global South today may be in the front row of the global crisis, but is in the back row of decision-making," Jaishankar said at a meeting of like-minded Global South countries and friends on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.

Jaishankar called for greater cooperation among Global South countries on energy, food security, trade, connectivity, climate action and emerging technologies.
