India's GeM portal has facilitated over twenty lakh crore rupees in procurement. This platform has seen millions of sellers and enterprises participate actively. Micro and small enterprises now hold over forty percent share on GeM.
New Delhi: India’s public procurement portal Government eMarketplace (GeM) has facilitated the purchase of goods and services worth over Rs 20 lakh crore since its launch in August 2016, the government said Friday. In the first four months of 2026–27, gross merchandise value (GMV) on the portal was Rs 1.47 lakh crore.

“From Rs 422 crore in the first year, we have now facilitated procurement worth over Rs 20 lakh crore. This has been possible because of the participation of millions of sellers, manufacturers and other independent enterprises,” said GeM Chief Executive Officer, Mihir Kumar ahead of the portal’s tenth anniversary, adding that the share of micro and small enterprises (MSE) on the portal is above 40%. MSEs registered on the platform has increased to 12.25 lakh from 2,424.

MSEs have fulfilled orders worth more than Rs 9.07 lakh crore, accounting for 45.6% of the cumulative GMV.

In the last decade, the number of sellers on GeM increased to 25.45 lakh from 3,339.
