Gauhati HC 'decourts' senior advocate for wearing jeans inside court premises

Gauhati High Court had to call for the police personnel to decourt an advocate outside the High Court campus for wearing jeans in the court.

Justice Kalyan Rai Surana stated that the matter stands adjourned today as B.K. Mahajan, counsel for the petitioner is attired in jeans pant. Therefore, the Court had to call for the police personnel to decourt him outside the High Court campus.

The court stated Let this order be brought to the notice of the Chief justice as well as to the Registrar General. The matter be also brought to the notice of Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
