Ganesh Chaturthi: This Mumbai-based Mandal takes insurance cover of Rs 316.4 crore

While celebrating the 68th year of Ganpati festivities, the Mumbai-based GSB Seva Mandal has taken an insurance cover of Rs 316.40 crore this year, a Mandal representative said.

Vijay Kamath, chairman of the GSB Seva Mandal said, "all public liabilities and every devotee visiting the Mandal is covered under the insurance."

It is claimed to be the highest insurance cover taken by any mandal so far.


The cover includes personal insurance for related people like pandal, volunteers, priests, cooks, footwear stall workers, valet parking persons, and security guards and Rs 31.97 crore cover for gold, silver and other valuable items. Along with this, a Rs 1 crore standard fire and special peril policy with earthquake risk which covers furniture, fixtures, fittings, installations like computers, CCTVs and scanners has also been taken.

"We have covered all public liabilities and each and every devotee who visits Mandal. We are the most disciplined Ganesh mandal, so it is our responsibility to secure every devotee of Bappa (Lord Ganesh)," Vijay Kamath said.

The 10-day festivities begin on Wednesday.
