Gadkari lays foundation stone of 9 projects worth Rs 1,357 crore in Rajasthan

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 9 NH (National Highway) projects of 243 km length worth Rs 1,357 crore in Rajasthan.

Speaking at an event, he said that widening the Ninawa section from Sanchore on NH-168A in the state will boost business for the Chalaur district's granite industry and make it simpler for farmers to reach Suratgarh Mandi.

Further, the minister highlighted that the two-lane Sriganganagar to Raisinghnagar on NH-911 and the Sriganganagar reinforcement from Suratgarh on NH-62 will make it simpler to reach the international border and the military station on both sides of the road, enhancing India's strategic strength.


According to him, Rajasthan will advance and develop as a result of increased job opportunities and improved military communication across the border.

He added that along with eliminating the level crossing traffic delay, the construction of ROB will facilitate connectivity between tourist destinations of Gujarat and Rajasthan, ultimately giving a boost to local people’s will income.

During the ceremony, 25 additional bypasses in Rajasthan, costing Rs 5,000 crore, were unveiled. Additionally, as part of the Setubandhan Yojana, a provision of Rs. 200 crore has been provided for ROB on state highways. Simultaneously, Rs 900 crore was sanctioned in CRIF and Rs 700 crore in Setubandhan Yojana for Rajasthan.
