Gadkari launches FASTag NHAI annual pass of Rs 3,000 for personal vehicles
The National Highway Authority of India will introduce annual passes for private vehicles. Nitin Gadkari announced the passes will cost Rs 3000. The passes will be valid for a year or 200 trips. These FASTag-based passes will be effective from Aug...

“This pass is designed exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans,” the Minister said while adding that passing through one Toll Plaza will count as one trip.
Gadkari said commuters would have usually paid around Rs 10,000 for such trips. These FASTag-based Annual Passes will be effective from August 15 this year.
While FASTag is primarily used for paying toll on highways, it also finds application across non-NHAI services such as for paying parking fees. Officials said non-NHAI toll payments will continue to be deducted from the available funds in these FASTags.
“The annual pass is not applicable for toll payments on state highways,” Gadkari clarified while noting the annual pass will enable seamless and cost-effective travel across National Highways throughout the country.
“A dedicated link for activation and renewal will soon be made available on the Rajmarg Yatra App as well as on the official websites of NHAI and the Roads Ministry,” the minister added.
This policy addresses long-standing concerns regarding toll plazas located within a 60 km range and simplifies toll payments through a single transaction.
