Union Transport Minister Gadkari
Speaking at the convocation for the All India Institute of Local Self Government, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari called for reforms in the functioning of local self-governance bodies.

The Transport Minister said qualitative reforms would end up saving money, while stressing on the need to synergise technology and education.

During his speech, he also called for local administrations to work on waste management and adopt a 'waste to wealth' approach.


In addition, the Minister lamented the lack of quality in municipal administrations and called for regular audits so as to improve the situation.
