A momentous day unfolded in Ayodhya as the historic Ram Mandir, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marked the culmination of a 500-year quest for devotees. Industrialist Harsh Goenka shared a detailed video, unraveling the step-by-step construction process, showcasing the collaborative efforts of the government, trusts, and international contributions.


Traditional Marvel: Building the Temple


Built in the Nagara style, the 3-storey temple costs around Rs 1,800 crore and covers 71 acres. Crafted with pink sandstone from Mirzapur, it stands 250 feet wide and 161 feet tall, featuring 390 pillars, 46 doorways, and 5 mandaps.

Inside the Sanctuary: Special Features and Accessibility

The main Garbh Griha, where Ram Lalla resides, is surrounded by mandaps like Rang Mandap & Nritya Mandap. Accessibility is a priority, with ramps and lifts for everyone, ensuring inclusivity.

Ensuring Durability: Protective Measures and Eco-Friendly Approach

A 21ft-high granite plinth protects against ground moisture, and the eco-friendly design leaves 70% of the area green. Plans for the second floor are being discussed, emphasizing sustainability.

Artistic Richness: Marvels and Sculptor's Touch

Intricate carvings of mythological figures on 390 pillars showcase exclusive craftsmanship. The five-year-old Ram Lalla idol, standing at 51 inches, was crafted by Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj.

A Sri Lankan delegation gifted a rock from Ashok Vatika, adding an international touch. Remarkably, no iron was used in the construction, symbolizing endurance for at least a millennium, with various temples dedicated to revered figures.

Funding and Historical Record: Construction Insights

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust received ₹3,500 crore in donations, with 51.4% used for construction. A 'Time Capsule' was created to document the history of Ram Janmabhoomi, avoiding future controversies and serving an educational purpose.

Ayodhya's Transformation: Economic Impact

The Ram Mandir's inauguration is set to boost Ayodhya's development with an envisioned investment of Rs 85,000 crore over ten years. Redevelopment plans cover infrastructure, hotels, roads, and railways, fostering economic growth and creating job opportunities.

Tourism Boom and Economic Growth: Uttar Pradesh's Prosperity

The influx of tourists is expected to significantly boost Ayodhya's economy. Banking and financial services institutions are expanding to cater to growing business. With 187 beautification projects underway and a budget of ₹30,570 crore, Ayodhya is poised to become a favorite tourist destination, contributing to Uttar Pradesh's projected revenue of Rs 4 lakh crore.
