A riot broke out between two communities in Ohar village near Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) even as a 51-year-old person succumbed to injuries suffered during Wednesday night's riots in Sambhaji Nagar.
Seven people were injured in stone pelting between two groups at Ohar on Friday morning. According to police officials, a dispute took place between two communities on Ram Navami on Thursday evening, which village elders intervened to resolve. However, on Friday morning a fight again broke out between the two communities, which led to a riot and stone throwing. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police rushed to the spot to maintain peace.
A clash also took place in Mumbai on Thursday night during the Ram Navami procession at Malvani, Malad when slippers and stones were allegedly pelted at the procession.
The incident took place after some people objected to high volume of DJ music being played at the procession. While the volume was reduced, stones and slippers were allegedly thrown at the procession which soon led to verbal arguments and stone throwing. A few people were injured. Police officials quickly diffused the incident.
On Friday, 21 people were arrested for the violence, were produced in court, and sent to police custody till April 6.
Seven people have been arrested for the violence in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar on Wednesday night and they have been sentenced to police custody till April 3.
