Four ULFA-I cadres surrender before Assam Police

The surrendered ULFA-I cadres were identified as Dipok Hatiboruah alias Dibya Axom, Nayan Patmaut alias Bikram Axom, Montu Moran alias Latest Axom alias Kulang Moran and Palash Moran alias Gopal Axom.
GP Singh stated that the four cadres submitted two hand grenades and pistols. A total of 11 ULFA members have surrendered this year, 16 ULFA cadres have been arrested and currently there are 75 active cadres in the ULFA camp.
In October this year United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) stated that it has given the death penalty to two of its members alleging them for spying.
The two – Lachit Hazarika alias Brigadier Salim Asom and Bornali Asom alias Nayanmoni Chetia – were killed on September 20, the ULFA said in a statement on Tuesday. The execution took place in Myanmar where the outfit has its bases.
Assam Director General of police, G P Singh had stated in X, “The heart-breaking news of the death of an indigenous youth from the jungle has worried everyone - my request to the youth of Assam - do not waste your life for a person and organization for whom your life does not matter”.
